Rayfoss is very reputable, you get what is described. 50mW wont allow you to do many burning tricks, you wont be able to light matches, but you will be able to pop balloons but not very far away.

If you are going with Rayfoss, you should go for the FLX model( www.rayfoss.com )It has superior heat-sinking and focus than the one that you suggested.

k thanks :) does that make the beam stronger? like i could see it longer, the dot would be smaller while farther away, or make the beam stronger and more visible than the other? i'd like one thats nicely visible, good for burning tricks, and....yeah thatas all thanks :)

They both have the same divergence, so the dots would be very similar at a distance. The focus allows for better burning on the FLX model, and another reason I prefer the FLX is the head is bigger allowing for better heat-sinking so you can keep it on longer without damaging it, I would recommend no more than 1 minute. It also has a shutter that keeps the dust out when not in use, so a cleaner lens.

It won't give you more power but it will make it easier to focus the dot.
