Is it possible to charge a 3.6V lithium on a 3.0V charger? The battery doesn't need to go all the way up to 4.2V, I just want to know if the battery/charger will break if I do this.
no, you won't break the charger, but a 3.6v battery charged to 3V will most likely be "discharged".
Also, you won't be able to use it as a 3V cell since the voltage and capacity are not a linear fnction, meaning that maybe at 3V the cell is on 5% of the charge, at 4V at 50% and at 4.2V at 100%, so just buy a proper battery or a proper charger
Actually... if you charge a 3.6V battery on a 3.0V charger... the 3.6V
battery will only charge up to 3.6V... That is the limiting full charge voltage
of 3.0V batteries...
BTW you will not damage the charger or the batteries...
