Quick LDO Paralleling Question -

I'm paralleling three 1084 ICs - sort of. I'm actually only paralleling their inputs, as their outputs are going to 2 separate lasers and a TEC.

My question is - can I use the same typical 10uF input cap, or do I need to increase the input cap specs on account of the fact that all three ICs will essentially be sharing the input cap.

Separate caps would be the norm and as close as possible
to each IC.

But that means three caps in parallel, and that is equivalent to a single, larger cap.

That's what I thought - so there's really no reason I couldn't just use one 30uF cap, instead of separate ones.

And why would proximity to the IC matter in a linear driver ?

I guess it depends on the distance from the supply to the IC and
the actual function on the cap (freq. of the noise being filtered ??)...
If it is an IC power input cap I would go with 3 caps...(depending
again on distance from the poer supply)
If it is only a Power Supply filter cap then one would do...
