My rayfoss driver just arrived today. I'll try it with my 2nd PHR diode.

I also have the 47nF caps. Where exactly do I put the cap?

in between the diode and the driver if im not mistaken.

Just soldered the phr diode directly to the rayfoss driver.

So on the + and - where the diode/driver meet ?

the + from the cap goes to the + of the diode/driver..

the - from the cap goes to the - of the diode/driver..

Ah ok.

Wait, the cap has + and - ???

How do i tell which pin is which ??

EDIT: Nvm, it works fine without one. Thanks anyway.

Just to help you out next timee... the cap has a coloured strip running down one side thats the neg.. and I'm not sure they are same as LED's but usually the longer leads are the positive side.

EDIT: yep heres a pic of a cap!

notice the longer side and the coloured strip.

BTW the cap goes in parallel with the driver and LD like this

- LD+

-cap+
|.....|
-driver+

Some Caps like ceramics are not polarized... and can be used in either
direction..
Pics of your cap or part Number would help..

Ahh ok thanks !!!

Mine are small ceramic disk caps. Same length pins, no markings.

ohh sorry, didn't see it was ceramic.. yes as lasersbee said.. those are non-polarized and can work either way! (works in both directions)
