I just ordered my self another laser 532nm 200mW from rayfoss.
Faona has asked me what type of focus. I would like this laser to be set for

By the way do you need*the laser in long foucs or short foucs?
Long foucs*will*generate a nice beam dot. If you need to light match you have to adjust the foucs.*(I will ask enineer to make*a*video on how to*adjust*for lighting)*
Short foucs will generate a powerful*lighting*ability but beam dot is fat.
*
Looking forward your comments in return!

Is this backwards or am I following her wrong?
I was under the impression that a smaller tighter beam would provide more burning power.

Long focus, or focused to infinity will produce a beam that remains roughly the same diameter only slightly increasing in size as it travels due to divergence, with less burning potential.

Short focus is when the laser first diverges(spelling ) or collapses in on itself before diverging outward into a much larger dot. The point where laser beams is tightest will provide you with maximum burning ability but the poorest beam for pointing out objects.

Because of this, most like to use lasers with ajustable focus when ever we can so we can get the best of both worlds.
