Question about building first 445nm

Hi,

I am interested in Mohrenberg's C6 "just add diode kit" (http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-just-add-diode-c6-kits-70147.html) and would like to know what current would i need to go for to run a 1.3W-1.5W laser. Also would a M140 diode work with this kit and would this host be sufficient to cool for a zero duty cycle?

Heatsink is too small for zero duty cycle.

depending on diode efficiency & lens about 1.3A ~ 1.6A

My M140 445nm diode is running at 1.62A. I have not properly metered it yet, but when I put it on the LPM just briefly the other night it easily hit 1.2W with a 3 element lens.

M140 diode will work in this kit. You can add copper diode module and copper heatsink, but I don't think you will ever get it to a continuous duty cycle.
