Does anybody know of an eBay laser pointer seller I can trust in?

I know ebay/paypal have applied a law against laser pointers with an output power greater than 5mW, yet there are a lot of laser pointer sellers that claim their products are roughly 5mW when they're actually even more powerful.

I know there are many sellers out there that list these kind of powerful laser pointers for decent prices. What would you recommend me?

On the other hand, I am also able to purchase outside eBay. First off, my budget is 100 dollars, so I want something with a good life time (durable), able to light a match, pop balloons and able to shut off street lights if possible. I have heard about lazerer and their products. Is it worth it buying from there?

Regarding possible safety suggestions, ofcourse I am not going to ''play'' or even go wrong with something this powerful. I already got anti 532nm safety googles.

Looking forward to find the right way to go.
Thanks in advance.

eBay pens are a gamble as you could get one that is 100mW or one that is 20mW. Your best option would be to buy from an LPF member like Blord, TheJoker301, or even build one yourself
Lazerer have a lot of neg reviews here so don't buy from them

Also companies like Laserbtb (china), Laserglow (Canada) and Dragon lasers (china again) that are very trustworthy and have reasonable quality. Laserglow seems to be way more expensive than the other 2 but I hear they are higher quality. And Laserbtb is one of the cheapest laser sellers (that actually have good quality products) based on some reviews on sites from LPF. Never actually bought any high power lasers yet so I can't give much advice from previous experience
Hope this helps.

shut of street lights, are u crazy? why would u wanna do that.. lasers are not meant to do that nonsense.

Haven't you ever seen a laser shutting off a street light? Check out this 50mW green laser pointer from Wicked lasers doing it. By the way, I am not crazy and I do not find it strange either. This is not the main reason I want to buy a laser.. I just want to do this trick atleast once.

I think a bright enough green laser light would be able to shut it off. Probably a laser with a power output greater than 50mW would be able to do the job.

I wonder what type of photo sensors they use. It looks like it doesn't take much power to turn one off. I wonder if an IR laser would work or would it have to be visible light? In any case I think its a bad idea to go out at night and turn off street lights with a laser. Sooner or later it would probably get you arrested.

No clue about what kind of photo sensors they use, but it's probably one of those ordinary ones on every street light :)
Yeah, I think it has got to be visible light in order to shut off these; and don't worry it's my neighborhood's street lights, actually I will have some people's attention if I do that instead of getting in problems :) Lol

Derailing this thread for a sec. I'm not referring to the OP but it seems there are a lot of preconceived notions what lasers can and cannot do. The other day my friend's boss stated: "do you have an 876MEGAWATT laser? Because if you did you could change stop lights" (if I did it would probably take the light off the pole).
I replyed no, you must mean milliwatt. I haven't tried it. I've been asked: "Could you make one powerful enough to cut someone in half? no, no I can't.

dangerous98, go ahead and buy a 100mW green just don't bring more bad attention to this hobby. That's all I ask.
Cheers

The sensor is the thing that people think is a camera on top of the metal bar with all the traffic lights. Actually, the thing that gets your picture taken for running red lights are 2 (usually white) boxes on poles behind you as you cross the intersection. I have seen them taking pictures of drivers. One of them is a flash box that makes a BRIGHT flash and lights up the intersection when its dark for a split second. The other box is where the camera is. The sensor above the intersection where the lights are, detects ambulance trucks and police cars (the flashing colors of their sirens). The intersection will quickly change the light to green and stop the other flow of traffic to let the emergency vehicles through. Lol, if you flash your high beams at these intersections on long red lights, it will usually turn green. These are the systems installed over at my place anyway. Back to the laser subject, I have no idea what lasers would do to traffic lights. I probably won't be trying it though lol.
