Yeah, that effect depends on the GITD composition. I have one of those big papers from hobbyking and they can't be erased at all. All you can do is wait. That's a pity, they're great for writing with low power 405nm pens.

I also noted that when you erase something with IR/red the GITD thing will light up very brightly just before losing power. Seems like it releases all the stored energy at once.
