i lit a cigarette with my phr803! i have it set at 141mA, but i was lookin at my lens and it seems to be getting cloudy...maybe from the heat?
the only thing i can think of is getting a glass lens but doesn't that have negative effects on the power of the beam?
oh yah....i'm using a plastic lens right now, incase your wondering.
btw, does anyone know about what my laser would be pushing out at 141mA?

Glass AR lens will reduce the power of the beam by reflecting more light back onto the diode, damaging it in the long run. I think it's best to stick with the plastic for now.
I've noticed a cloudy/bubbly effect too in some plastic lenses, I've always just assumed the lens is slowly being melted by the laser.
Oh and 141ma might put you around 100-140mW, but you won't know what it is for sure unless you can measure it. PHR's seem to be unpredictable sometimes.

i figured it would have to be up there since i lit a cigarette with it doay, granted, i barely got it lit, and was puffing away like a madman the whole time i was burning it.
