Original link to the laser
XX-850 50mw 532nm Green Laser Pointer (1*CR123A Battery) $14.58 Free Shipping
Ordered on 4/15 Arrived on 5/4
The laser host itself feels pretty sturdy, but not as heavy or solid as the last one I reviewed

The output was pretty terrible, MAYBE 20mw. It looked as if only half of the beam was exiting the module because it was very small, and exiting off to the side and not dead center of the lens.
SO! I decided the right thing to do was order a rayfoss 100mw module. For $50 how can you go wrong?
The module took 2 weeks to arrive which seems to be a standard shipping time from them.
Installing it into this host was beyond easy. Just bypass the switch, press the module into the threaded aluminium ring, and screw it into the host body.
The pressing of the module took very little force. In fact I was able to work it into place by hand. I used a wrench so I can apply force without touching the driver.
The only downside to this host is the little to no heatsinking, so a duty cycle must be respected. I do 60 seconds on 30 off.
I do like the compactness of this laser and of course the GITD clicky.
Below you can see the power difference. Stock is left rayfoss is on the right.
All in all, $64 for a decent compact 100mw green isnt bad at all. Its a super easy mod that just about anybody can do.
Have fun!
