Hi,

I am currently planning a project which involves turning on a laser via a computer (a raspberry pi). I am not sure how complicated this may be, as my knowledge of electronics and lasers is not the best.

The laser I have is this one. Does anybody have any idea on how this could be accomplished? I'm aware it will likely require some modification of the laser. If this laser is not suitable, perhaps you could point me in the direction of one that would be capable?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Kev

How much current can a raspberry pi I/O pin supply?

If it's more than the current the laser requires hook it up directly to an I/O pin with a resistor (assuming 3.3V logic)
