HELLO THERE IM AM URGENTLY NEEDING HELP !!!!

Hello laser friends i am having trouble with my 1w blue laser power supply and

cant seem to put my finger on it .

i am running a 1W blue laser i bought from o-like off ebay and the specs of

the laser are as follows.Wavelength:445nm
diode power 1W
output power :>800mW
working voltage :12-15VDC
Input current :2A
TTL 0-20KHZ

laser module size :66x33x33 mm
power supply size:68x43.50x36mm

Red wire :power "+"
Black wire : power"-"

any ways my problem is when i hook up a 12V 2A power supply to it the plug

or wall wart will burnout , short out etc whithin 10 - 15 min :wtf:. do i need a higher

voltage as i can go to 15V?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and obviously im new to lasers

but im very commited to learn all about them

Reply with a link to the laser where you purchased it.

When you say that it shorts out - what is actually happening?

- Is the laser just turning off?
- If so, does it work again later?

the plug gets very hot and shorts the plug out it has happened to three power supplys all to o-likes specs 12v 2A or up to 15V. but there is no problem with the laser itself it works great except its not focusable like they say there is no focus lens that came with could i be hooking it up wrong cause im running neg to neg and pos to pos ?

I just went to o-like laser site and found my laser and it says it needs a 13vdc could this be the problem ?

Have you tried ordering the $10 power supply that O-Like sells?

Yes and the one they sent me was deffective they said it was new but had sever water damage and corrosion inside the said they would send another.

But my concern is the site says it needs 13vdc and they say i need 12vdc?

I feel your problem is that your Wall Wart needs to be at least
12VDC at 3 Amps to be able to supply the proper amount of
current...

Before the Wall Wart got hot.... did you get any kind of beam
out of your Laser....

Post a clear picture of the Label on the Wall Wart that you
said got hot...

Yes i had a wounderfuly powerful beam that burned at long distances

could it be the petrometer is up to high?

Did you play with the Potentiometer...
Do you have appropriate Laser Safety Goggles/glasses...
