Possible new host

Sorry. Looks like something you would find in a tourist shop.

And what's with the "CSI" ripoff?

Peace,
dave

Don't like CSI. Hate a product attempting to rip off that horrible/brainless show.

Aside from that, maybe it's just an unfaltering picture, could be quite nice host in real life. Only problem I see is that it is a decent size host and as such the buyer would want a large heatsink. The way the head is manufactured makes it a lot more difficult on the guy with the lathe, jayrob, to make a nice large heatsink which also transfers heat to the body of the host.

The added manufacturing time and difficulty raises price of heatsink. I am also pretty sure the host itself is not cheap, it is a CSI branded product after all, three different LED types etc. :yh: For the investigator not backed by tax payer money...

I never liked side button hosts, I'd rather have permanent clicky switches. Also, the pdf says it has several modes, you may have to bypass that when building the laser.
Between that and the MXDL you should go for the MXDL, jay has already made the appropriate heatsink for it and it'd save you a lot of time :)

On the other hand, the NEBO catalog has a vast variety of flashlights of all sizes and shapes, even tiger, leopard and zebra printed patterns!

Admit it, wouldn't you like a lovely 200 mW greenie in a tiger pattern host? Raaawrr! :D :D

It was $30. The CSI supposedly stands for "continuous supreme illumination." At least that's what the package says. As for the heatsink, I wasn't going to mess with one. I don't plan plan on putting something real powerful in it. I'll post a video later.
