Popping a balloon INSIDE another balloon!

I remember reading posts about doing this way back, so I got some clear balloons and gave it a try. This is a really cool physics experiment, and I think the only possible way to pull off popping a balloon inside of another balloon is using intense light. I also lit a match inside of a balloon, but the match quickly runs out of oxygen and goes out.

Enjoy!

That's cool man. Ill have to try that. By the way, how much mW is the red laser in the beginning?

I remember as a kid at the Science Center in Toronto they
demonstrated this.

Wonder if its still part of the 'show' they put on with that
monster of a laser they used to have..

Used to go once a week and made sure I was always on time
for the laser demos :D

That and typing profanities into the talking typewriter,
holding the repeat button down and hiding off to the side
while parents walked passed having a machine swear at them :eg:

What kind of laser did they use?

To be honest I cant remember... This is now 25years after the fact..

For the ballon demo IIRC was green, probably argon under 30mW. They'd place
the balloons on what looked like a large funnel with the beam facing up.

The beast they had was built into a cabnet approx 10+ ft long. The tube
was exposed from the side and could be viewed like a large HeNe tube.

The beam dia was in the area of 6-8in and used a brick to terminate.
Id imagine the glass in front of the demo area for this laser was there
to block.

Now that I have kids its a perfect excuse to go back and refresh my
memory :)

Found a few pics... These look old so im sure the lasers are the same,
but cant find much info on their website.
