Hi there!

I'm new here and to lasers in general.

I want to buy a ~100mw green laser for a start and after reading your forum a bit I will buy it from Lazerer.com!

Please have a look at these two:

LZMN - 532nm 100mW Focusable Green Laser Pointer

LZGN - 532nm 100mW Focusable Green Laser Pointer

For me as a newbie those two are identical besides the case. Is there a difference? Is one of the two lasers what I want/need?

Thanks in advance :)

oify

Edit: What I "need"..

..about $50 price tag
..shipping to Germany (either free or <$10)
..about 100mw so I can pop baloons and burn matches (fun purposes)

well your right they just look different.
Most likely they use the same guts to power them.
But i would recommend one with a key over one without any day of the week safety first.
why buy from that site location?

Hi :)

Please explain what you mean by "with a key" (I have no idea).
I chose to buy from lazerer because some guys on this forum mentioned it's a good shop :)

I don't have any clue myself.

In the output power, they should be the same.
But! There is always a but...
LZGN - 532nm 100mW Focusable Green Laser Pointer
^^^This laser has bigger and better heatsink, so the duty cycle will be better plus it has some safety features.
LZMN - 532nm 100mW Focusable Green Laser Pointer
^^^This laser has smaller heatsink and the duty cycle will be worse.
For example: for the smaller laser the duty cycle would be 30 seconds on/60 seconds off, and for the bigger laser the duty cycle would be 30 seconds on/30 seconds off.
( I don't know the exact numbers for duty cycles, but it should be around that numbers that I said before. )

Thanks, didn't know about duty cycles before :)

One last question: Would you guys recommend me to buy from Lazerer or rather choose a different online shop?

Yes Lazerer is good company, it is quite cheap for the quality you get.
But if you want to got top of the line, and spend more money, I would suggest you CNI, Novalsers, Dragon lasers...
For those lasers you get nothing but quality, always overspec units, better beam specs and all that matters for lasers. But with that kind of quality, you pay much more.
