Planting straight rows with laser?!

I need sub foot accuracy, looking at $20 000 GPS + yearly subscription of a couple a thousand, not worth my while..... It is very handy if accurate, I can plan on using certain implements down the rows if i can keep it reasonably straight. Right now I vary from 2-5 feet, excluding the use of some equipment down the rows.

I may just shoot a 1000 ft at a time, hopefully eliminating divergence to a degree.
