Here in LPF I consider a Decent life to be in relation to an over driven diode in a Pointer/Burner that would still last 500 to 1000hours using a max 1min on 1min off duty cycle.
I figure from there if I am still safe for a continuous duty cycle within the blend I am working with.
Ideally I am looking for a red in a >9mm package that will live more than 1000 hours continuous duty at 310mW with a good heat sink.
Projected 12X build.
Looks like 240mW is the best guess "Safe" continuous duty power setting for this 658nm diode and I would have to set the 12x 405nm diode for 300mW and the 532nm at 72mW to blend with it to make white. It may not be a bad idea to be that conservative until more is known about the 12X BRD but I would still like to have a red that could scale up with the BRD if it turns out 400mW is still safe.
