Are all PHR-803T diodes the same or is there different outputs depending on the manufacture? Because I hear different stories on the outputs from 70ma - 150ma. I want to know whats best. I'm planing on setting mine at 100ma or is this to weak?

Sometimes you can get a "Freak" that will push out more power at lower current. This goes for all diodes. Efficiencies vary from diode to diode. I would not push it over 100mA.

There's a PHR in my friends laser, it is being driven with LM1117 driver set with 12ohm resistor, it totals to 107 mA of current. It's working over 2 years now.

It's also pushing 100mW flat after plastic lens, which is kind of better than regular PHR diodes, so yours may not live that long on anything above 100mA.

Set it to 90mA for starters, if you want more power later, you can easily adjust it.
