PHR-803 & RCKSTR driver question

Ok, i got my parts in, for my first simple build, using a hotlight, PHR-803, and a rckstr driver.

Now my question is, how exactly do i hook these up ?

Here is how i am assuming this would work?

I solder the case pin to the negative pin?

Then attach the LD's + to the drivers outgoing +,

Then the drivers incoming + to the battery's +

and the case completes the circuit?

Does this make sense??

What alse should i watch out for ? as im trying not to fry this diode or driver ...

Thx in advance.

it sounds like you got it... watch out for ESD when you set your driver. make sure to short you driver to discharge the cap. just take the + and - of the diode side of the driver and touch them for a second. make sure you do this before you hook your laser to the driver. and for a long lasting relationship, don't set the driver higher than like 100ma.

Nice, so i can just clip those 2 (case and neg) short, and solder them together.

Could i then use the remaining pin, and solder it DIRECTLY to the RCKSTR driver? or is the contact not center to the driver enough (cant check atm)? should i put a wire in betweeen?
