I think it would be cool to get a list going of what wavelengths and power levels are available, then if you make a new one every quarter or year you can see how far lasers have progressed. I know that in 2007, the last time I looked, you could only get a 2mW 700mhz pulsed 473nm laser in pen size. (I'm not talking about those huge batons, AA or AAA sizes or similar.) and 593.5 was just showing up at around 1-2mW for ungodly prices. 589nm wasn't around and 405 was weak at 30-60mW. (as I recall, wickedlasers just came out with the sonar, they tore a bluray player open for the diode, the case was massive, and the whole thing was like 2 grand, they sold the empty pen for DIYers too)
So far what I've found available in pen form-
405nm 5-?
473nm .6-80mW
532nm 5-?
589nm .6-80mW
593.5nm .6-80mW
635nm 2-300mW
640nm 5-100mW
655nm 5-500mW
808nm .6-1000mW (I think I can see this color ever so slightly unaided, only on a white wall though)
Has anything like this been done or does anyone else think this would be interesting?
