Optotronics

I am looking at the 6 and 700 dollar(RPL 165/225mw) respectively, laser from Optotronics. I heard that all lasers are made in china(handheld that is). Is this true of Optotronics? I read in some of the searches I did here that if you ask for "jack" and say you are from LPForums he will cut you a break? Any comments on Optotronics? I want to be sure before I plunk down $700 or more for a laser.

Almost all lasers are made in china. The RPL's are made by a chinese company called Viasho. You get a 7.5% discount on optotronics products for being a member of this forum. Pm bootleg2go aka Jack if you want to ask about something.

I have 2 RPL's and I can easily say that they are very reliable and high quality lasers.

PS: And yes, they are from China - all of these portables are. Not really legal or cost effective to make them in the US anyhow. There are good/high quality Chinese lasers, and crappy chinese lasers though; the RPLs fit into the first category
