Has anyone heard about this? I smelled this right around 2 yesterday, it seemed impossible to describe the smell, the two things I thought it most smelled like were rubber and jet fuel.

The comments are interesting hearing other people talking about the different ways it is going to kill us.

One of the things I find the most interesting about it is that the smell went away, and has not showed up elsewhere. They say in the article that they may have taken their samples too late. It seems unlikely to me that someone could have dumped something that there have been no airborne traces of since the smell ended.

I am curious to hear what people here have to say about it

The unexplained phenomenon was similar to an episode that occurred about a year ago, when people in various San Diego beach areas began complaining of a lingering stink comparable to rotten eggs.
Authorities eventually determined that decaying vegetation in and around estuaries and ocean inlets was to blame for the foul smell, Luque said.

I'm thinking this happend again or someone did some illegal dumping somewhere of something.
