So I just build my first laser with a Oclaro 700 diode and I just realized I don't know how to figure out which way the battery's would go if you build your own laser. Is their some rule I can follow? Can seem to find any info about this.

Usually case negative (negative to the tail cap of the host) unless your diode is case positive (808nm diodes for example), which this one isn't, the case isn't connected on these diodes so go for case negative. i.e negative input pin on the driver attached to the host, different ways to do that, depends on the host somewhat.

If you've already built it surely you should know which way around you wired the driver...?
