I just ordered this from o-like, now that i've done some research, this seems too good to be true, and o-like seems to be going downhill, thoughts?

and no, I can't cancel my order, already shipped.

I received my order form o-like fairly quickly after Chinese new year. But I did opt for the DHL shipping. All in all if you know what your buying your probably not going to be disappointed.

thanks, eases my concerns, did it work well? do you have pictures?

Oh, I didn't order any lasers from them... Only optics, drivers and some modules.

O-Like is cool, that's a bargain for a 1w and I have that same housing with a 400mw 405 I bought from O-Like years ago, it still works great.

It is focusable and waterproof too.

It has an O-ring tail cap, the front half unscrews and has a DOUBLE O-ring center and the focus shaft has O-rings.
I have put it under water and it works, it also has a front window sealed in.

O'Like is doing very well now for the past year actually like they used to be--they had problems for a short while but are now back up to speed----your order will not be a problem. Will be what it is for $54.99.

Is not a large or heavy duty host with great heat sinking for long runtime but it will be OK as a beginners first laser plus it is focusable and waterproof as well--make sure to use laser goggles to protect your eyes---1W can cause eye damage faster than you can blink or move to avoid it
See: http://lasersafetyfacts.com/resources/Laser-hazard-distance-chart.pdf

PS I have a 405nm and 650nm in same host from O'Like that I bought back in 2011 and they are fine--have held up well and still work well.

Yes, proper eye protection is a must, laser safety glasses that attenuate the wavelength you are working with.

Thank you very much, this makes me confident that I won't get ripped off, and yes I have safety goggles, I like my vision :)

That is probably the best deal around, that's less than it costs to buy parts and build one yourself.
