Could this be use instead of a lava driver? anyone tried these?

jwc uses these for his PHR's. He likes them. I'm going to be ordering a few soon. I don't think I'd use it for anything other than PHR's though, as I don't think it will be able to handle the forward voltage drop of diodes set at higher currents. But I'm not exactly sure.
