Thanks for the help, I guess I will pay the extra $20 for it. I guess it's worrth protecting a good laser. And lightyear points (like anyones gonna use mine lol) could be nice too.

It absolutely is worth the $20. I only skipped the case because I have a really nice metal cigar case lined with foam that works great for me.

very cool -- maybe try a piece of plastic with some nail-polish remover on it. (you could make your "X" out of black electrical tape painted with polish remover)  

The image may be easier on the camera (and could be done vertically if you glued it to a peice of metal...) Maybe add a few flecks of the gunpowder to the tape for effect

I am going to try my hand at making some fuse - then I could spell out whatever I want and have fun that way !

Making fuse takes forever for me so I just buy it from Cannonfuse dot com. It's really cheap and saves you a bunch of time.
