Ok, so I hadn't played with my laser for a good month because i've been busy with school work and have had other more important things to do.
I picked it up today and the divergence is crazily big, maybe 10mrad....

Is there anything that could have caused the divergence to go crazy???

Or do i need to contact Nova and ask them

Thanks a lot
Rich

Not that I can remember, maybe a few bumps onto my carpetted floor from less than a foot while it was in its dragon case but apart from that no major bumps/drops.

At 13 feet...yes that appears a tad LARGE! ;D

How large is that black item you are using to "Catch" the beam...
Just trying to get a sense of scale.

Nova will take care of you!!!

I just noticed that in your Picture..there is some "Splatter" of the beam...

Have you cleaned the lens???

Lenspens are the BEST!!!

I got something on the lens of my X-105, and WOW did it blow the beam all to hell and gone.

Just remember don't use alcohol to clean the lens....

If you don't have a Lenspen..the only other way to even remotely be able to safely clean that lens is as follows...

You will need 1 can of compressed Air
4-6 Q-tip or Cotton Swabs.
Lens cleaning solution (I like Zeiss Brand myself)

First take the compressed air, and lightly blow off the lens to remove any large particles off the lens..you don't want to grind them into the lens!

(you might want to re-check the laser at this point...sometimes just blowing off the lens will remove the problem!)

Next take a cotton swab, and make one light swipe across the lens to manually remove any dirt the air left behind.
Toss that swab.
Take a new swab..spray a small amount of lens solution on the end...not dripping wet..just a small amount.
DO NOT USE THAT SWAB ON THE LENS

Take a 3rd swab and lightly touch the end of this swab onto the end of the wet swab (this will transfer JUST enough fluid to clean the lens)
Use this swab, and make 3-4 light passes over the lens.

Get another New swab, make 1 light pass across the lens.

Lastly, lightly use the compressed air to again blow off the lens.

NOTE>>>>>
When using the compressed air..DO NOT USE FULL PRESSURE!!!

If you are very careful, you can do it without a lenspen.....

It could be condensation...take the battery cover and aperture covers off and let it sit over night...then try again.

I don't see how it can be condensation, the laser has been sitting in my dragon case for about a month, also LarryQ i think the "splatter" is just a bit of the reflection.

The black object is an A4 lever arch file
