Nova 275mw

Avyone know how long nova lasers has been out of stock of the Endeavor 275mw compact or when they will get more? This is the laser I am looking for. Compact, powerful with an understated rating from what I have read and reliable. Yet currently unavailable. Any other comparable suggestions? I need one by Thanksgiving. Thanks!

Since this laser is in the 'top spec' category, it is very rare that they stock them.
You can shoot them an e-mail but there are no guarantees since lasers in that format capable of >275mW average power are a very rare item.
Give them some time to respond. They may have a few units on hand or maybe even getting a shipment in soon. With rare items like these your best bet is to call 'dibs' as early as possible.

Okay, so here is a question: I like the Novalaser Endeavor series based on what I can see on this forum and have researched. The green 225 Endeavor is around $500 bucks. The same style laser from Gadgettown in what they are claiming to be a 200 mw laser is $59. Is the quality difference between these two lasers really $400 plus? If Gadgettown is claiming 200 mw, what could it really be? 150, 125 or could they be really full of it and be selling a laser that is less than 50mw? It was only $59 bucks and said it was available to ship immediately so I ordered one to see what I get. I am a novice and if it gives me a cool bright beam and can burn and pop, I think I'll save another $500 bucks and forego an Endeavor.

Did I just buy a total piece of crap, or do think I won't be able to tell the difference?

It's like buying a DX 200mW or a real 200mW from a reputable company like optotronics or nova...the first difference is that the latter will actually be up to spec, usually even slightly over. The DX will pretty much leak IR like crazy and will be no where close to spec.

From Gadgettown it will most likely be a solid amount less than 100mW of green coming out of that, not be stable whatsoever, and have IR accounting for the rest of their claim.

Be sure you buy protective glasses with it also.

I think you bought a total piece of crap.
As far as I am aware the Endeavor series laser is an exclusive product of NOVA. That is, CNI (the manufacturer) supplies only NOVA with the Endeavor.
Dragonlasers.com also offers this type of laser as the "Aurora" series but not in as high powers.

What you purchased from gadgettown is likely a cheap clone and will never output more than 150mW of true green. You will be lucky to get 100mW from that laser. You will be even luckier if it lasts a week.

As a rule I never buy anything over 5mW from the cheap knock-off websites. There is just no knowing what you will get.
In the long run, you may end up spending more time and money on refunds, return shipping, and trying out different cheapies (hoping you'll get what you paid for) than you would if you got something of good quality to start.

In short... You WILL be able to tell the difference. Without a doubt.
