I'm looking to buy one of these, but which one is better? I'm really looking for using these outside to point at stars, i want something that can be really visible when i shine it up the sky. If any one owns one of these please give me your input. Also is there any coupon or deals for any of these sites? That would be awesome.

Go with the Nova 125. You are likely to get a laser that puts out more than 125mw and nova has good customer service to help you if the laser has any problems.

Techlasers will likely send you an underspec laser that has mode hopping issues and ignore your complaint emails.

The shipping isn't free. The cheapest option will cost you around $10.

Like Razako said, Nova will give you a laser that not only performs at the specifications, but above them. Techlasers will send you one that MIGHT perform the way it's supposed to, but it's a gamble on your part. Personally, I wouldn't gamble the money, I'd go with the sure thing.

Actually orders over $200 are shipped free from nova, and i got mine a week from order date using free shipping. But i think 125mW might be overkill for star pointing.

Novalasers = Epic win.

Techlasers = Epic fail.

Novalasers has very kind customer service, and will give you a laser that is usually 5-10mW over the its listed power.  If you have a problem with it, you can send it back in to them and they will replace your old one with a laser that is another 5-10mW more powerful.  Techlasers, on the other hand, will almost always send you an underspec or mode hopping laser and then not answer any of your reply emails.

So, basically, never buy from techlasers.

If you like surprises, go with techlasers. If you want a guaranteed good unit, then go with Nova. BTW, Nova does have Free shipping for orders over $200.

The Nova X-125 is overkill for star pointing. If you really want power, just get an X-100, it's $80 cheaper, it'll still be plenty visible (I have a DX 30mW and I can clearly see it's beam in the night sky), and with that $80 saved, you can buy a pair of safety goggles (a must for any laser that strong and if you want to burn things), and get faster shipping.

I was going to get an x-100, but i knew that if i didn't get the 125 i would regret it. I like the feeling of having the most powerful pen style laser besides the x-150 and x-175. Cause all the other sites have only up to 125mW. I can't explain it, but i definitely like having that extra bit of power.
