I've read all the specs, beam width, divergence, mw...I've never seen a green powerful laser except in here, (I just know I want one) the only laser I've tried is a little red kitty laser. I'm trying to justify the cost of an RPL200Mw vs. an X100 and since I don't care to burn stuff would I notice a huge difference in the night sky between the 2 as far as beam visibility? I've read that the photos online look fatter and more intense than they really are. I just don't want to spend all that extra money and find out the RPL is only a little better and not $500 better. Opinions welcome!
Thanks in advance :-/

You'll definitely be able to tell a difference, but whether it's worth the extra $$... that's for you to decide. Personally, I'd do it just for the extra punch. 200mW is a bit brighter than 100, but not twice as bright to the eye. More like 1.5 times brighter.

I'd say go with the RPL because then if you do decide you like burning you will have that extra power and, you will not wish you would have paid the extra money for more power

The x-series and the RPL are not comparable lasers, for a few obvious reasons, but comparing the beams in the night sky you will notice a big difference. My friend lives about 10 blocks south from me and so I shined my x-75 (peak 94mW) in the night his direction and he could easily see the beam, then I pulled out my RPL 225 (peak 246mW) and he was like "WOW!!! it's allot brighter!"

Of coarse, the RPL is big, less portable and the Nova X is a pen.

Both are great companies, great customer service and delivery, you can't go wrong either way.

The X-100 will probably give you closer to 120mW, and the RPL 200 will give you closer to 220mW, and of coarse the rpl will be brighter and burn better. However, the Nova x series are focused with a much smaller beam diameter, with is better for close burning, but worse for further divergence, and the RPL has better divergence.

If you are willing to spend some good ca$h on a laser, I'd say go with the highest RPL you can afford, but I'd suggest you talk to Jack first. ;)

Or buy a Prometheus from Pseudonomen137. (Same as an RPL, from a trusted forum member)
