Newegg 12x deal

Hey everyone. I haven't been here in a while, but I got an email form newegg just now and they have all blu-ray drives 10% off! That makes THIS 12X drive only $59 until the 13th!

I just wanted to make sure that this is actually a good 12X before dropping the cash on it, but it sounds good to me. Any thoughts?

Also, do these require any kind of special driver vs a normal low power BD diode? I think I still have one of those micro driver kits laying around from last time I was building pointers so if I could use that that would be great... I guess I'm sort of out of date on laser pointer assembly

Hmm, if I see correctly, that drive is just a BluRay reader, not a burner....
Might be a good deal if you want a drive for your computer, but not if you want a powerful BluRay diode.
If you want a 12x BluRay burner diode, ask scopeguy he has some sleds for ~40$ IIRC.
