NEWBIE Intro and Laser Question

Hello All,

First time post, so bare with me if this question has already been posed previously, I did a search with no results so here it goes:

I am looking to do a custom application that involves the need for a small laser that is capable of projecting a single word. The word is to be projected on a surface approx 14 inches a way and the word dimensions are approx. 4 inch wide by 1 inch high. What companies or lasers are available on the market that either can create a custom application such as this or are there stencils that are capable of taking a single beam of laser light and projecting the word via the stencil?

Any guidance would be highly appreciated, I've googled this religiously with no success. Thanks for your time and I hope to contribute through my own adventures with lasers over the next several months.

I belive what you ask/want is not posible , with l.e.d. it is possible sort of ( clock projectors ) but well i am not really sure if that is possible with laser light.

I think a Diode without a lens to focus it would be able to "Project" a stencil onto a wall, but It would not be small the distance the diode would have to be back from the stencil I think.
It would be interesting to try.

I think your talking about something like this, but shrunk into a project box, etc.​

I would have to do some tests to see what it would take but I think it would be better just to grab a pico projector, and be happy with it.

Actially it is possible !! ( maybe not custom words but some (; ... Back then my 1mw red laser had changeable caps ... And one of the caps said ... " i love you" how?!! I dont know !!what im remembering now is that the word was on the lens of the cap... (?) and that the light of the laser just projected the word and that was about it ...btw this was like 8 years ago ... So i dont know the details ..(;

Not to add on to the fact hes in the wrong section but I can justify it will work. Here's a 445nm diode (without a lens) through a spray paint stencil.
