Ok so i am new to this forum and i am trying to build a bluray or just blue laser... but for now i have some questions.. i have a bluray diode from a ps3 and i am trying to make a laser thats slim and very bright / powerfull.. im just trying to get the effect of a blue laser line shining if possible.. im installing it into a movie prop and i needed help.. i was hoping i can find a way to have a laser that would shoot a blue beam of light out.. is it possible? can i get help?
i need to keep it slim like 1/4 in maybe a bit more... not including battery i am relocating that.. SO.. would a bluray diode work? is there something else..

now i believe my laser diode is a 405nm... is that good enough? by itself? with just a housing? i saw this tut and this is where i got the laser idea.. i run a videogame/computer repair shop so i had these laying around

Blu-Ray Laser Phaser!

but would that be a burning laser? and can i see a beam (under dust , ect)

would i need a driver also or no? and i saw someone who sells these tips that glow when the laser is used... will the bluray diode charge them? and will it work with the aixiz laser housing? http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-gitd-focus-rings-after-glow-78958.html i just want the dark blue/ violet one..

yes you need a driver or you diode wil die very fast (1/2 hour) and the ring wil work with aixiz housing, the ring will light up a time after the laser was turned on :)

so i got the regulator , mount, ring, battery, now what kind of driver do i need

the regulator and resistor are the driver

it is the cheapest driver i ever found :)

just wire everything together as picture

AHHH  thanks lol... cool when i get it all done i will post pics.. its a old james bond movie prop..

so just one more question do the wires need to be as close as possible? or can i have the laser in one half and on the other end all the electronics and wires from the diode?
