heyy ppl...im a noob at this but gud at electronics...help required to build a laser burning diode :)....m not in USA...m in the middleeast, UAE....so pls direct me a site from which i can buy an laser diode module which has the collimating lens in it and a 150-200mW diode which actualli ships to my place...i realli need tht laser to get naughty in class ;D...
 





oh btw..i noe the safety thingz n all...lyk its dangerous to eyes if exposed to a fraction of an eye blink nd all...

thnx fer the link BlueFusion...i wanted to ask whether the module is focusable or not?...as ill b workin wid far distance buring "fun" ;)
 
uve misplaced the quotation marks - far distance 'burning' fun. as i see it, far and burning combined are a oxymoron when talking about milliwatts /even hundreds of them/ of optical yield. ;)
 
@phenol, right you are; even at several hundred mW, you won't be burning more than a few feet away. I've cut tape at 30 feet or so, and even lit a match at 19 feet, but unless I can find some different optics, I don't think I'll be going much further than that.
 
30 feet! :o what laser was that? a greenie? while sparing my reds running them at <180mA, even the ARC collimators im using wont give me half the distance uve achieved
 
Sony 16X from SenKat @ ~300mA in an AixiZ module. I used a bit of smoke to help focus it to the smallest spot I could (About 1mm)
 
that big. Running my red at 240mW, I can focus it down to 0.1mm, at about 15 CM. It friggin stings skin!
