[newb] Need a for-fun laser (minimum harm?)

Hi,

As you can see from my Sig, i live in the UK.

I'm thinking of buying a laser for fun, to show off. Maybe point it at the sky or something, show my friends etc

Not to burn balloons or use it for evil purposes

I still want the laser to at least reach the clouds visibly or is that not possible without being harmful?

p.s.
If you can, just mention the mW/nm so that i can purchase the correct one
and i hope i dont need to wear any glasses (but plz say if i do)

Sounds like a 5mw 532nm green pen would be fine for what you're looking to do. The beam will be visible in a dark room or at night.

Yea, 532nm green would be good.
Green will have the brightest most visible beam / dot for the power compared to other colors. It just looks a Lot brighter to our eyes.

Glad your worried about safety! :san: Too many people (young & old alike) are foolish with lasers. I gotta add to your Reputation just for that!
