Good idea for information exchange about these incredible instruments.
The first laser I purchased was a Spectra physics,  very large enclosure, and  output was probably 5-10 milliwatts.....I bought it in 1976, kind of pricey for a low output instrument,  but lots of fun.
I have 4 green lasers, 2 red, one yellow.....and one blue, made by a company overseas....great quality,  little beam divergence.   I  still want another...
and I have read something that everyone is likely aware of, that if you illuminate an aircraft with your   laser, that you are eligible for 5 years in sing-sing, and a $250,000.00  fine...
I do not know if this applies to the International space station, or the space shuttle....

I have had very good service from, and purchased the lasers I have, from Lasever, in Ningbo city, china, from David, who is a very good friend, and always very helpful with lasers, and offer the best prices I have found. Lasever now has new portable battery powered blue lasers, 50 mW, very stable output, very narrow colimation, very low divergence, 10,000 hr expected average life of the diode.

wow you have a few lasers there man! And thanks for the very informative 1st post! welcome to the forum! ;)
