New project with NUBM37 125W

@RedCowboy
I charged the battery almost to full. The results are the same. It cannot pick up more than 2A. With the car battery, it increased to 2.2A. The problem is with my batch of drivers.

Well that's interesting, I have 2 of those 900W boost drivers and I bought each 1 on a different day, they both work very well, but apparently your's are not so good.

Hell I even ran 2 x nubm38 all in series, that's 28 lasers @ 3A and 111V

Well, Chinese work 😄 A while ago I even tried again with the NUBM37 array, but I only connected the top two lines. I set 48V and 3.7A but the driver failed again. It only reached 2.8A and was very slow to increase. Anyway, with this 900W driver anyway, I won't be able to fit everything in the box because it turned out to be quite big. I wouldn't actually use it for the NUBM37 because of its size

Today came the 600W drivers and this fan, which will be central between two weaker ones. These days when I have time I will set up the drivers.

I tested this fan and it is super powerful!

Yea those boost boards are pretty big, but these arrays are only good for up close fun anyway, you won't be doing any work at any real distance with the way they are set up, that's one reason I haven't felt like putting much effort into anything fancy..... but if they get cheap enough I will knife edge a bunch just for kicks.

Well, these arrays are not that expensive. I bought it from an Ebay seller for $220 via Paypal

I tested the two 600W drivers today. They work great with NUBM37. I don't know if it's ok, but at 3.9A setting, the driver outputs exactly 50V to each laser. I don't know if these 50V are ok in this case. I used the battery from the drill 20V/4000mha/50A for the test. There were absolutely no problems with her. The battery coped even with both drivers at the same time. Just in case, I measured the amperage with both drivers on at the same time and the results were very good. There was absolutely no current drop. Both drivers output 3.9A simultaneously without any problems to the array.
So far all 24 diodes are working

Today I received Litokalla's high discharge 20pcs 18650 batteries. With them I will make a battery of 16 or 20 units at 16V with BMS at 40A. I'm expecting to get a lot more stuff these days, like battery scoring urrds, lenses and stuff.

After a few hours of work, the layout of the components in the laser is ready. Space is quite limited in this case. I'm waiting to get the point machine and BMS for the 16V and start putting it together. In this case, I could not use the 900W driver because it is too big for this box. As keys I put. Secret access key. Then there are two keys. One is for the array and the other is for the fan. On the left is a thermometer and a voltmeter for the battery. I put a switch on the fan because I want to be able to use the laser for short intervals without it turning on. It is also quite noisy, but it has a lot of power. I made two holes on both sides of the radiator so that the warm air goes directly out and not into the box.

I decided to use a pack of 18 18650 24V batteries again. I have a nice BMS 24V 40A. I've seen videos and they say these converters have better efficiency when running at higher voltages. Also an 18pc 24V pack will save me some box space

The laser is now ready! It took me half a day of work, but finally everything is ready. I took a welding device from a friend because I don't have the nerve to wait for the slow courier companies in Bulgaria. My shipments have been in a distribution warehouse in Bulgaria for 10 days. A complete tragedy 😄 Everything happened the first time, quick problems. My father helped with the soldering. The drivers work at 3.8A. The fan works great. The average temperature rises slowly and falls very quickly. The shape in the distance of the spot is like that of the NUBM38 and the size is the same in the distance, but here the diodes are much more. If there is a difference, it is probably very small. I will play more tomorrow. I will record some videos and share them.

NUBM37 already has one dead diode. I don't know what is the reason for this. Since I made the laser, its total working time is about 20 minutes. I don't believe it is anymore. The longest time it was used was about 2 minutes without interruption with the fan on at an operating temperature of 30 degrees. All other inclusions are no more than 30 seconds. These arrays probably don't like more than 3A current. 3.9A probably comes in excess of some diodes and they die. I plan to reduce the current to 3.5A because it is very likely that another diode will die in the future.

Of my 3 NUBM38 arrays only 1 has 1 bad diode that died like the 1st day and I like to drive @ 3.75A but I have pushed to 4.5A before.

Use a clean power supply and don't overheat the array but sometimes a diode will fail early...... there may be a reason some of the tin pin arrays were pulled.... I expect the OEM's test them and reject the units with a defect, we are probably..... almost certainly buying those rejected arrays.

Probably some diodes are damaged more easily. Everything in the box is done right. My other NUBM35 laser had the exact same thing happen. At the very beginning one of the dids died and to this day all the others work at 4A. There is no word on overheating, because I never exceed 60 degrees. And with NUBM37, the temperature did not exceed 50 degrees, and that was only during a test without the fan.
