New laser pointer

So I have made basic like 5mw laser pointers before but i am trying a new thing and try to make a burning laser pointer:
diode:808nm 300mW High Power Burning Infrared Laser Diode Lab - eBay (item 260609327963 end time Jun-24-10 16:26:56 PDT)
Diode housing: 5.6mm Laser Diode House/With Lens/ Laser Industrial/Lab - eBay (item 260546618140 end time Jun-01-10 03:08:02 PDT)
Driver schematic: Driver.jpg (image)
1-Adjustable Voltage Regulator LM317T
1- 100 ohm Potentiometer
2- 10 ohm Resistors
1- 1N4001 Rectifier Diode
1- 47uf 35v Capacitor
1- Power Switch
Solder all of that together like in the picture and hope it works

It spent like 20$ on all of this stuff. Can anyone tell me if it should or shouldnt work and any advice or tips.

Not experienced one, but 300mW diode for four bucks - that is not gonna work. No way.

Are you aware that the diode you are looking at is infrared light, and will be invisible? If you still want it, buy from the seller snoctony, one of the only Ebay-ers we trust around here.

i know it is going to be invisible but im more worried if it will work or not
