Greetings,

I am a Mechanical Engineer by trade. I'm somewhat of an old bird. My knowledge of electronics & optics is rather lacking though. Although I am adept at soldering and metal fabrication, my electrical theory is rather slim. So making/modifying lasers is not likely to happen anytime soon.

I stumbled upon this site awhile ago and have been reading quite a bit. I purchased a cheap laser (eb*y), supposedly less than 5mw, and got more intrigued as I used it.

I'm not sure what I can contribute at this point except questions. So please bear with me as I ask the stupid ones.
