I personally wouldn't risk it with Wicked Lasers, They are rediculously overprice, Not up to spec, and not worth the money, Nor the letter from customs saying they've seized your $300 laser.. Your best/only bet is to get a member to build you one or learn how to build lasers yourself.thanks for the welcome . been looking around the forums seems like im not the only aussie having trouble getting highpowered laser pointers . so far i own a crappy 1mw green ebay laser pointer , and 2 SDLaser 303 and 1 SDLaser 305a , yeah i know that maybe they arnt the best of quality but they are sure hell better than the 1mw ebay lasers lol . and no i dont point them at planes or helicopters .
so yeah i really dont know where to begin , im looking to buy some high powered green lasers from places within australia so i dont have to deal with customs and such so im looking for links and such .
i bought 4 MPJ brand green 1mw lasers from ebay $12.50 each also still waiting to get them fearing that customs might have a problem with them . i been emailing wicked lasers and dragon lasers about the importation of their lasers into australia , they both assure me that there wont be any problems with their lasers and customs because of the way they package them discretely making no mention of the word laser and removing power level labels . so i dunno i love the green lasers the most .
yeah im still thinking about that , i mean those companies dont care what happens when they arrive at customs . who around here on this forum builds highpowered lasers pointers in australia ?
Aussie Customs use a few different methods, They have a blacklist of return addresses(e.g. Wicked Lasers) which automatically any mail from these addresses gets flagged and looked at.. Pens are probably the hardest type of lasers to get in, Cause they see the full shape of a pen, and the shape of the Module inside it, With the spring, and boom. All lasers they recover get metered, Anything over 1mW gets you a letter in the mail informing you the output of the laser(s) and you can testify it which then it goes to court and you have to explain your reasons in which you'll most likely get prosecuted.. The cheap laser pens are ALWAYS overspec.. I've never seen or heard of anyone actually getting an onspec 1mW laserpen. Saying it said it on the eBay listing doesn't mean jack to Customs.oh man I just hope I don't get into trouble for buying and importing those 4 1mw laser pointers from China , reading a fair bit now seems like customs is testing the power outputs for laser pointers coming through . nothing can happen to me right just a warning from what I read , but they have proof that on ebay it says 1mw so it not my fault if it happens to be over that ?

silverss; said:ok so just say they find its more than 1mw , and i dont want to take it further . what happens then ? do i have to tell them i dont want to take things further ?
Nope. They send you the letter stating you can take it to court and testify your reasoning or just accept they've been seized and you've been warned and chuck the letter in the bin and think no more of it.. I've heard of users receiving multiple of these "Seizure" letters and nothing ever happening.ok so just say they find its more than 1mw , and i dont want to take it further . what happens then ? do i have to tell them i dont want to take things further ?
Nah, you won't get in any trouble AFAIK. I have had many lasers seized, and all I have had is a letter from customs saying I can either let it go or fight it and blah blah blah, never done that.
But I only buy cheap lasers like that, other wise you have to have the batteries and module posted seperately then the laser body/host, because laser components are completely legal.
Nope just ignore it

Yeah, You can send whatever you want through domestic post, it doesn't get x-rayed. I've bought a few of those penlasers within australia.lol so ok i understand now , it will be a pure miracle if my MPJ brand green laser pens arrive in the post untouched by customs , if they send me a letter asking me why i need it ill just testify back saying i need them to blind out airplane pilots and helicopters and making my cat chase the green dots around in circles making it go crazy lol . all that bit is a joke
those ebay 1mw green lasers from within australia are ok , i ordered 5 of them from a guy from sydney still waiting for them to arrive .
