Hey all, new here and had a few questions. Well first off i'm Richman and i'm from Florida. Just a little something to know about me before we get down to business.

So for the past few months i've been wanting to get into the laser hobby. Was always thinking about buying a WickedLaser but wow browsing for reviews this website shows them being bad or very incompetent. So I saw someone recommended a site called Lazerer, checked it out and decided to buy it from reviews I got on here. Everyone said "Max" was a big help when purchasing from them. (Not sure who he is, someone should tell me :>)

I bought the 100mw 532nm "tiny" laser. 45 bucks, first laser not bad- Well I shouldn't say my first because i've had many <5mw lasers and other little toy ones so this is my first semi-high-powered laser. I understand what the laser is as it is not a toy and can cause serious damage.

With that said I was wondering how to improve this laser I'm buying? I heard buying a better battery can up the mW. So what type of battery should I get. The laser I bought takes 10440 Li-ion so what do you almighty laser wizards know about better batteries? And is there any chance that the battery could totally burn out the laser? Not as in not following the duty cycle but like an overcharged battery or something?

Also if this purchase goes good, the laser is quality built and everything I think i'm getting is received I had my eye on the 1.2W 445nm Rifle laser. Looks like a knock off of the Arctic from WL, but a hell of a lot cheaper. So if anyone has that laser, or has heard of any reviews from it can you point me in the way of a review or tell me the pros and cons of it? Thanks in advance guys!

Hey Richman :yh:

About the battery thing, yes of course fresh batteries are much better then used ones and they may boost the mW by only a few mW's, don't expect a huge jump for example 100mW-200mW. It is always recomended either way to have fresh batteries to get the most efficiency out of your laser.

Thanks for the welcome man. I wasn't expecting some completely unrealistic jump like that lol. Just a little extra boost, but I meant other batteries. Like when I ordered the laser, I bought the 10440 Li-ion battery from Lazerer, but are there any batteries better than what I can get from them?

The only way the battery could screw up the laser is if the voltage of the batteries are more than what the laser can take. If you want batteries to last a while you are going to want batteries with more mAh.

Alright then just forget about the batteries. I'll make do without the few extra mW lol. Off to the second question, either of you (or others) heard of the Rifle v2 1.2 W laser from Lazerer? Is it worth buying? Also how long does Lazerer usually take? I ordered my laser on the 10th of November, 23rd now and it hasn't even shipped as far as I know. I received no tracking number and I am getting no email replies... Might have to dispute this if an email isn't received soon which I would hate to do.

I would personally buy (or build my own) 445nm from a fellow member. You will get more bang for your buck, better quality, better customer service, ect.

Hey,

To answer your question about the laser not even being shipped the best action would be to contact the seller, either by e-mail or "live chat"(if they have it) and just ask them what's going on.
 
Already emailed em about 2 times in the last 5 days. No response. I have honestly no experience with building a laser haha, would probably screw it up big time if I tried. And my budget for this is like 170-200 so that's why it was a good buy for me. Recommend me something 445nm and 1W+ who's host is slick looking :)

Don't feel bad at all, I would most likely screw up if I did a DIY :beer: But check out the B/S/T section, there are many high quality 445nm lasers for sale!

If you want contact Blord, guaranteed to be extremely good and cheap!

Its much easier than you think to build your own laser. You can buy parts where the hardest parts of it are already done for you. Please see the two links in my signature, the two white ones, especially the second one is like a tutorial. One big advantage to building it yourself is that you know exactly whats in it and how its put together, so if it breaks you can fix it.
