diode is pretty worthless. gbic you could sell for like, $100, $150 if it is in working condition.
 
It's like new and I have 3 lol so it's not worth extracting it? Btw I'm on my phone, kind of hard to check anything about it and the curiosity just struck me. Thanks for the quick reply!
 
yeah, 1300nm is well into the IR range. 0.5W is cool, but if you look on ebay you will find lots of 1W and 5W IR diodes of various wavelengths for pretty cheap. These will be worth more as the part than as laser diodes.
