What are you going to put your laser in? An old torch?

Well choose a host you like, then come back here and we will tell you where to go from there :)

a lot of people first start off with the radio shack project boxes. they come in many different sizes. and are really cheap, and easy to work with.

Yes that is a for the diode. You now need a heat sink for the module and the driver. I would make this in a project box because you don't seemed that experienced and working with a host will be hard.

Yes you will need a lens to use the laser effectively. You will need to heatsink both the diode and the driver otherwise it will burn up.

You can use the module you linked but you will need a diode press to fit the diode into the module.
