Need to Borrow an Oudin Coil

I have one that is just "clicking" that I am not ready to give up on yet.

It's not worth buying a coil over, but I would prefer to exhaust the options before recycling it.

Have you tried heating the tube in an oven? I've heard that can work.

If you talk to mixed gas ( Steve ) on photonlexicon he might have one or know someone who does.

What I have read suggests that this is not a good idea.  It appears to be mostly bad for the HeNe PSU though.  Also, from what I've read the oudin should be kicking out in the tens of KV.  I MIGHT sacrifice one of mine if I cannot find a way around it.  I have several here in the 8-12KV range.  It would be cheaper than buying a coil.

What's the worst that could happen? . . . . . .I could electrocute myself and set the house on fire, right?   . . . .I'm good with that   [smiley=evil.gif]
