Need some BR laser goggles, UK.

you are lucky this time. next time please take care.
UK is one of the countries ban over 1mw laser pointers. ebay don't allow sellers sell over 1mw to UK. how do you get a 100mw laser pointer. do you built it by yourself?:san:

Actually I don't think they have a ban on 1mW+ lasers. I believe that they have prohibited the sale of laser pointers in the UK which are above 1mW under the trading standards act but they are not actually illegal own. This doesn't mean you can go pointing them at planes etc because that is illegal and you can get a harsh punishment not to mention the moral issues, just be sensible and you should be fine there.

I would suggest you get a pair of goggles, just as everyone else has but as long as you are very careful about reflections of mirrors and shiny surfaces your fine, sometimes it's nice to look at the colour as goggles do take the fun out of things sometimes. But for anything else you should always have them on, especially if your burning something.

My goggles from scopeguy arrived today, they are great! They are really clear to look through and the dot is still clearly visible so you can see what you're doing. I haven't tried burning anything until now, it lights bare matches (i.e. no black marker) really quickly and engraves plastic quickly too! Would definitely recommend the goggles!
Oh and about UK law - pretty much as Asherz said really their sale is restricted (as it is in the US I believe) but it's not illegal to own them (how can it be really since you get powerful diodes in DVD burners etc) and you find yourself in big trouble if you shine them at planes etc. Some police helicopters have some sort of equipment which allows them to find the source of the beam since they have been the target of ebayzerz a fair bit.
