need LPC 20x diode source

I have a LikeItBright 300mW build in a Romsien host that from what I've read on this forum uses an LPC 20x diode. I read a post from LikeItBright that says 300mW might have been too much for this build, as many went LED. Well, mine has gone LED and I want to fix it, but have no experience with the DIY builds.

I assume I'll need a tool to extract the diode from the heatsink, and soldering skills to remove and replace the diode (thankfully have soldering skills).

What I'm after is info on what I need to replace, and any other pertinent info regarding this repair. I may want to back down on the mA's so this doesn't happen again.

Does it have an Aixiz module? Most likely it does.
If your diode has LEDed you don't want to keep it right? You can just push it out with any rod a bit smaller then the diameter of the diode (5.6 mm). It will finally kill the diode but you won't need a tool.

Thanks!! I've been collecting lasers for 22+ years (lots of tubes), but am new to the DIY angle, so know nothing about it. I'll probably order an LPC-815 and attempt the repair.

After that, it'll be time to do my own build from scrach. I have a PHR-803T sled I just extracted from an old HD-DVD ROM drive. After that, maybe a "low power" (200mW maybe?) 445 build. I think I caught the bug...

The Cree driver (Romisen host) is soldered in place across what appears to be foil between the module and heat sink. I have some desoldering braid I'll do my best with, then press out the diode.

I've already started looking at those, and while I could build my own, for $10-ish, it's worth having one pre-built. I might need help with determining resistor values (assuming there isn't a pot), but I'll keep reading before asking for more help.

If you want 5 LPC sleds for VERY low price, check out styropyro's group buy. Its about $5 a piece there while at Modwerx/HTD they're almost double that.
