need help with driver

There currently is no driver which can use 2 AA batteries only. I recommend you build a DDL driver which needs to be supplied with 7v and up for driving a red laser diode, here's a video tutorial. :)

DrLava's drivers (check the Buy/Sale/Trade) can put out the current for a burner from 2.5V, but the problem will be that the small AAAs may not be able to sustain the current necessary to power the driver at that high of output. Two AAs may be OK, but I'm not sure of the current limit on alkalines, maybe NiMH batteries would work better?

Another problem is that alkalines drop in voltage under a load, so they might not last too long.

Are there any changes that need to be made to a driver for a 20x laser assuming the batteries are right?

Changes for 20x as opposed to what and what kind of driver? The only change I could forsee comparing 20x to a diode from a lower speed burner would be turning up the current ;D
