Need help with Dorcy flashlight project

Hi,
I am new here, i signed up approx 10 minutes ago. I have been working on this Dorcy project for a while now: http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/272/1/

I ordered all the parts. I took apart the Dorcy flashlight and inserted the heatsink. But then I made a big mistake, turns out I am not that good at small scale soldering, and I wrecked the Flexdrive driver, (preset to 115mw)
and possibly the diode as well. That was a few months ago. Now i have decided to complete the project again, but I am trying to avoid soldering it myself. Any tips for how to solder it? Does anyone know of someone I can buy the flex drive already soldered to the diode in the aixiz housing. Or perhaps I could re purchase the parts, and send them to someone to solder for a fee?
Any help would be much appreciated!

its really not too hard to solder on the flexdrive. Just don't rush your way through it. Did you use a finer soldering tip? The smaller the tip, the WAY easier is it. I wrecked a flexdrive once by rushing. I ended up melting some of the circular black plastic that held that tiny little inductor coil in place. lol Don't be afraid to try again, it will ultimatley be less expensive, + you will get more satifaction out of the concept that you did it yourself! I'd say its worth trying again. As far as any other soldering tips go, I guess just try not to glob the solder on. Don't solder while thinking, "more solder=better", just think "solder cleanly" instead. You must be mentally prepared! lol

Ok another very important thing about this particular hack is it DOES NOT address the EXISTING driver and disabling it PRIOR to wiring in your flexdrive. It is VITAL you disable the existing driver.

I'd be happy to fix your unit if you send it to me and pay me for time alone $20.

just send me a Private Message and i'd be more than happy to help you. will disable the chip, as well as set your driver to any desired current, and do all the soldering for you, and then cover the connections with a small layer of sealant to ensure no breakage occurs... wich can immediately kill your diode.
