need help with dac/scanner build

Right on. So just load up Spaghetti and change the power settings and it will do that. If you don't have Spaghetti then the settings are probably in whatever else you use.

I use LFI, but that has intensity sliders as well, so it should be possible to do some tests with that. However, i'd prefer to have a frame that contains some sort of brightness bars so i can see them all at once - both in the projection and gliding by on a scope and all.

... still no good test frame, but i decided to upgrade the hardware anyway - and it does make a difference on certain frames, probably because they contain mixed colors. My system doesnt have blue though, so its a still a bit finicky to properly test.

One advantage is that i can turn down the green to get a true-yellow rather than lime at max power, sacrificing some brightness obviously.

I suppose so - i'm fairly new to constructing scanners and such equipment, but it has been a very good exercise in electronics so far. One thing i noticed with the upgrade is that some frames were worthless with ttl blanking, but quire nice with the analog drivers in place.

I have to wrap all of it up as a guide at some point, and i think the analog capability is going to be part of that - it seems well worth the couple of extra components for people to recreate it all. On the other hand, its been quite fiddly finding out whats exactly going on using a scope, but thats reasearch that needed to be done only once i hope ;)
