Need help to build a laser

Hello.

Today I've found an old Playstation 1 and noticed it has a blue diode.

I wonder if I can turn this diode into a burning laser ?

The input for the PS1 is 7.5V, would a 9V battery work ?

And if its possible, how do I do that ? I've heard that I need to buy a driver or something.

Uh... no. Playstations use IR diodes. Maybe you saw the bluish reflection from the focusing lens.
